Account Setup
Set up your TidalForms workspace for your team. This guide covers account creation, inviting team members, configuring defaults, and verifying your workspace is ready for document processing.
Create your account
Your TidalForms account is created when you first sign up or when your firm administrator adds you to an existing workspace.
If you're the first user at your firm:
- Contact your TidalForms account manager to receive your signup invitation
- Follow the link in the invitation email to create your account
- Set your password and verify your email address
- Your workspace is created automatically with you as the administrator
If you're joining an existing firm workspace:
- Check your email for an invitation from TidalForms
- Click the invitation link to accept and create your login
- Set your password and verify your email
- You'll be added to your firm's workspace with the role assigned by your administrator
After logging in, you'll land on the dashboard where you can access documents, review queues, and export features based on your assigned role.
Invite your team
As a firm administrator, you can invite team members to join your workspace and assign them appropriate roles.
To invite a team member:
- Navigate to Settings from the sidebar
- Select Team Management or Users
- Click Invite User or Add Team Member
- Enter the team member's email address
- Select their role:
- Admin: Full access to all features, team management, and billing
- Reviewer: Can review and edit documents in the Review Hub
- Preparer: Can upload documents and submit for processing
- Click Send Invitation
The invited user receives an email with a link to create their account and join your workspace.
Team invitation tips:
- Invite all team members before your first document upload cycle to ensure proper access
- Assign the minimum role needed for each user's responsibilities
- Administrators can modify roles or remove users at any time from Team Management
Configure workspace defaults
Workspace defaults apply to all documents processed in your firm's workspace. Configure these before uploading your first batch of documents.
To access workspace settings:
- Navigate to Settings from the sidebar
- Review and configure the following:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Default export format | Choose CSV, Excel, or JSON for generated exports |
| Confidence threshold | Set the minimum OCR confidence score for auto-approval |
| Notification preferences | Configure email alerts for processing completion |
| Tax year | Set the current tax year for document classification |
Recommended initial settings:
- Set confidence threshold to 85% to balance automation with accuracy
- Enable email notifications for export completion
- Verify the tax year matches your current processing cycle
You can adjust these settings at any time, but changes only apply to documents processed after the update.
Stripe Billing
Firm administrators manage payment and billing through the Stripe billing portal.
To manage your payment method:
- Navigate to Settings from the sidebar
- Select Billing or Payment Settings
- Click Manage Payment Method to open the Stripe portal
- Add or update your credit card information
To view invoices and receipts:
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click View Invoices to access your billing history
- Download receipts or past invoices as needed
Only users with the Admin role can access billing settings. Contact your firm administrator if you need a copy of an invoice.
